From the mountainous land of Huatusco (The rabbitthat lives among trees), Veracruz. This is where coffee first arrived in Mexico. Many generations of farmers have developed an unmatched technique for coffee harvesting in this land, which they have refined over centuries.

 

Due to its proximity to the ocean, its altitude, and its mineral-rich soil, coffee here develops a unique taste that elevates the drinking experience. This is why these specially selected arabica beans have been named Ancient Delicacy.

 

What makes it special?: These beans are grown and harvested under unique conditions; permanent clouds shade and water the coffee plants at an ideal altitude, creating what is known as a “microclimate”. This microclimate naturally allows for the cultivation of high-quality, speciality coffee.Another characteristic of these unique microclimates is the ‘shadow forest’. A shadow forest is an ecosytem that enjoys of a permanent and dense presence of clouds, which protect the delicate arabica plants and provide a gentle daily rain. This natural ecosystem in combination with the volcanic soil ensures that our coffee will absorb an improved selection of nutrients and develop an exceptional quality and flavour, tantalising even the most demanding tastes.

 

This coffee has been meticulously harvested to ensure only the mature coffee cherries are picked. This way we preserve the intrinsic quality of our coffee.
